Celebrating 10 Years as Scintacor – A Look Back

13th May, 2025

This year, we’re celebrating a special milestone — it’s been 10 years since we became Scintacor. While the name might be a decade old, our story goes way back. Nearly 100 years, in fact.

We started out in the 1920s as Levy West Laboratory, and over the decades we’ve gone by a few different names — most notably Applied Scintillation Technologies, which many of our long-time customers will remember. Some of our earliest work helped power the H2S radar screens used to defend Britain during World War II.

In 2015, we rebranded as Scintacor and have since established ourselves as a global leader in phosphor and scintillation technology.

Our innovative products enable the conversion of a wide range of radiations into visible light, supporting critical applications in imaging and radiation detection across scientific, medical, defence, security, and industrial fields.

Here’s a look at where we started and where we are now:

Our technology shows up in some amazing places — from dental offices to airport security scanners, and from the depths of the Earth to satellites orbiting Mars and Mercury. It’s been an incredible journey, and we’re just getting started.

To all our partners, customers, and team members — thank you for being an essential part of our journey through the first 10 years of Scintacor. Your trust, collaboration, and support have helped shape who we are today. Here’s to the next chapter — we’re excited for what’s ahead!
