Embedded Hardware / Electronics Design Engineer (w/m/d)

greateyes is a modern, innovative, and technology-oriented company based in Berlin-Adlershof. Our business field includes the development, production, and sale of highly sensitive cameras as well as optical inspection systems. We work with passion and commitment for our international customers from industry and science.

To further expand the development of scientific CCD and CMOS cameras at greateyes, we are looking for reinforcement for our 10-person international development team in the field of hardware and electronics development as part of a part-time or full-time position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independent development and implementation of new concepts and solutions in the field of (embedded) hardware and electronics (digital/analog) of scientific cameras as well as measurement and control devices for industrial and laboratory applications
    • Component selection, circuit design, simulation, and PCB layout creation/routing
    • Construction, commissioning, and verification of test assemblies, prototypes, and samples
    • Creation of technical/development-related documentation, test, and inspection instructions
  • Independent coordination and processing of development projects while adhering to specifications, norms & standards, as well as economic, technical, and time objectives
  • Collaboration and coordination within the R&D team with mechanical, electronic, and software developers, as well as coordination with project managers (internal & external), customers, and suppliers/manufacturers
  • Support in transitioning to series production (e.g., creation of parts lists, assembly instructions, etc.)
  • Consultation with other departments (sales, production, support) on technical questions

Your Profile:

  • Successfully completed university degree in electrical engineering/communications engineering or qualification in a technical discipline with a focus on electronics & hardware development
  • Several years of professional experience in development, simulation, and routing, as well as in building prototypes and debugging complex electronic circuits (analog and/or digital), ideally with a focus on optical measurement systems, imaging sensors, etc.
    • Excellent knowledge in circuit simulation, schematic design, and PCB design/routing
    • Experience in design and debugging of common interface standards and protocols (SPI, I²C, USB2/USB3, Ethernet, PCIe, LVDS, etc.)
    • Proficient use of common measurement and testing equipment (oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, etc.)
    • Experience in soldering/assembling or reworking electronic assemblies (SMD/THT)
  • Basic knowledge of common norms & standards in electrical engineering & machine safety
  • Experience in EMC/EMI characterization and product certification (CE/UL) is an advantage
  • Independent and reliable working style, good comprehension, team spirit
  • Good German and English skills for working in our international development team
